Board of Directors

Will Lloyd

Will Lloyd joined the Governor's School Foundation Board of Directors in 2023 and is excited to share the experience of "AND" with the next generation of gifted North Carolinians from around the state.  It was at GSW in '96 that he learned that it was not required had to choose a path of intelligence OR athletics OR humor OR achievement. All of those things can, an do, live in other people throughout the state. He has never forgotten that lesson and looks forward to helping pass that along.

Will attended the GS West in the summer of 1996, where he won the Social Science President Election with a whopping 73% of electoral votes. In 1997, he graduated from Southern Alamance High School in Graham, NC and went on to attend UNC-Chapel Hill. While an undergraduate at UNC, Will made countless interesting choices, won Homecoming King in 2000 and eventually earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a minor in Spanish after an informative semester abroad in Sevilla, Spain. After working for the UNC Athletic Department, Will stayed in Chapel Hill for graduate school, earning his Masters of Sports Administration from UNC in 2003.

After school, Will worked in college and pro sports at UNC, Campbell University and the Phoenix Suns, then left the world of sports to "watch the games, not work the games" and has worked at Advertising Agencies in Phoenix and North Carolina since, including starting his own, 4L Consulting, in 2013. Today, Will mostly works with FedEx Canada on their web, analytics, and search presence, while helping local business build or better their own internet footprint and social media strategy. He is also on the Board of Directors for the Kidzu Children's Museum in Chapel Hill, NC.

In his free time, Will can be found herding cats on youth soccer, basketball and baseball fields as coach, spending time with his wonderful children of 11 and 8, visiting the beaches and mountains of NC and taking copious sunset photos at the lake.
